Sweet 16 pretty much sums up our Spring here at DuBois Standard Poodles... this small collection of pix doesn't sum up the joy I've had taking care of these sweet babies. There is a fortunate group of "people" that are in for a great summer.-- Soon these puppies will be home and that is where THEIR story begins.

I ALWAYS HAD A SOFT SPOT FOR THAT SONG..."1 LITTLE , 2 LITTLE , 3 LITTLE INDIANS.." You get the idea. I am looking at my tribe of 16 and marvelling that all but one will be going home soon!
Our last puppy is a darling brown girl. I imagine with all of the dramatic color literally running around, it was just easier to choose another baby. She is a sweetheart and tried her best to love Meg up during our pictures! Her personality is adorable. A pleaser-- and if you've read much here you might remember that I am a sucker for the puppy who just wants to be with ME. (shallow I know :)) Well today was the moment of truth for one of our "brindle" boys..... He was noticably lighter than his brindle brother and my curiousity was peaked.... I shaved his face and trimmed his body to see a beautiful red sable underneath all that fur! This little guy looks like he is wearing eye liner ---his pigment is so dark! He is simply GORGEOUS.
The downside was his owner in Canada really needed a brindle for her breeding program. The happy part is that I get to enjoy him just a little longer while his new family is found! Doesn't he look like a dark eyed teddy bear??? My Mom (below) has volunteered more than once to hold down the fort while I'm out of town with John. Incidentally, holding down the fort "HERE" is not a small task! Without hesitation she offers to love up my crew. Another constant "suppporter" is my Nephew Tyler! His smile makes you want to hand over whatever you're holding! I also included a picture of another sister, Tracy. She couldn't wait to see the "army." ( do you think we all look alike?? LOL) We ALL have been loving these puppies! They are starting to set themselves apart with sweet personalities. Toddling toward our hands is an adorable site. These pictures we're taken last week so they've even grown a little more by now. Tyler wonders if his Mom would notice this one up in his room?? My sister Tracy secretly would love to give her Pomeranian Tess a poodle friend! These puppies are growing really well. Both litters are eating solid food so it won't be long until I notice Mom trying to "OPT" out. I started shaving faces last week and am starting to see their beautiful poodle features emerge. This next week grooming/baths will begin for Fannie's litter. It is important that this routine starts early as then we have well adjusted adults at bath time!
